Insurance Coverage

J & M Laboratories is a service provider for one the most recognized insurance companies in Costa Rica and can help fulfill the necessary requirements to receive coverage for your laboratory tests depending on your specific policy.

INS Medical

Covers the policyholder and his or her dependents – if they are included in the policy – Spouses and children of the policy holder are considered dependents. The policy covers reasonable and customary costs for medical services, in Costa Rica and Central America (Regional), in Costa Rica and the rest of the world (International and International Great Deductibles); as a result of an accident, emergency or illness as long as the policy is current and valid. The amounts to be indemnified (paid) will be covered in accordance with the reasonable and customary costs in the country, where the insured is located, at the time the service is requested.

BASIC COVERAGE

In the INS Medical International Great Deductibles insurance will cover the reasonable costs once the insured has met the deductible specified for his or her specific policy:

TYPES OF COVERAGE:

1. Coverage of medical expenses, including maternity, transplants, surgical prostheses, congenital diseases of the newborn, prematurity, epidemic and pandemic diseases, recreational practice of diving and soccer, air ambulance, sports, medical treatments for mental illness or nervous disorders, emergencies during trips abroad and medical expenses abroad, among others
2. Traveler assistance coverage
3. Coverage of check-ups, including ophthalmological check-up and general check-up.
4. Coverage for death, which protects death, burial and release of insurance payment due to the death of the direct insured.
5. Emergency dental coverage

INS HEALTH

In recent years, the National Insurance Institute (INS) has been focusing its efforts on increasing the capacity and efficiency of medical, hospital and surgical, pharmaceutical and rehabilitation care for all insured persons.

However, these efforts would not be sufficient without also implementing the same advances used by other countries offering high quality health care. Our focused attention on improving care resulted in our investing a million dollars to acquire state-of-the art technology with a special focus on technology for health care.

As a result of our investment, the INS-Health Complex, as well as the regional medical centers, have the most advanced technology supported by the Modern Administrative Medical Information System (SIMA), unique to Latin America. With SIMA, all areas of patients care at all of our health centers are electronically integrated.

SIMA improves efficiency and ensures patients receive prompt medical care. Each of our clients has an electronic file that all of our providers can access eliminating lost files, misplaced paperwork and duplicated entries.  The result is our patients receive necessary medical exams, x-rays, prescriptions and appointments with specialists quickly and efficiently.

With our new system, all of our clients including those with our; Occupational Hazards policy, Voluntary Automobile Insurance or other INS policies, are covered when they need medical care, including hospital and specialized care services, and have access to our most advanced technology.
